Job Description

Highly regarded industry leader is seeking a Finance Manager with extensive revenue recognition expertise for their Boston based division. This role requires superior organizational and communication skills in addition to strong financial analysis and reporting experience. You will be providing period results analysis as well as providing counsel to the CFO and Corporate Controller on accounting matters and processing. A consultative personality is called for as well as a record of process enhancement in a collaborative manner.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide direction on technical accounting issues with a particularly important focus on revenue recognition (SOP 97-2 and EITF 00-21);

  • Review the implications of new and existing contract agreements and foster an understanding of associated accounting impact;

  • Review existing / promote new internal controls over revenue reporting;

  • Interface as needed with auditors;

  • Interacting with the accounting and reporting staff to ensure proper accounting policies and procedures are in place and adhered to;

  • Look for opportunities to enhance the speed and accuracy of period close and reporting.


Requirements:



  • BS with a accounting or finance major required, MS or MBA desirable;

  • CPA required with a Big Four experience preferred;

  • Must offer a depth of expertise with SOP 97-2 and enforcement of standards;

  • Strong communication and presentation skills are critically important;

  • 4 to 5 years of professional experience that includes a minimum of 3 years experience with Big Four or regional public accounting firm is the preferred profile.
