Position Description:
Senior financial manager providing financial management and thought leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for Equifax web-based, consumer oriented Personal Solutions business unit of Equifax. This business unit is expected to generate approximately $150m in revenue in 2009 and will grow approximately 12% annually over our strategic planning time horizon.
This position will report directly to the SVP of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, but also have a strong dotted line to the business unit President and other key business unit executives. This person will operate as a key member of the business unit executive management team. Regular exposure to Corporate CFO and CEO also expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze, report and conduct monthly reviews of operating and financial results with business unit leadership that highlight key trends, opportunities and weaknesses within the business and contribute to timely management decision-making
o Help identify appropriate action plans which respond to opportunities and issues
- Lead the development of budgets and periodic forecasts which reflect objective assessment of market conditions, key business drivers (price, volume, sales wins, etc.), and key strategic and operating initiatives, and properly balance realism with a healthy degree of stretch
o Help identify practical operating plans to achieve targeted results
- Develop and deliver effective reporting of key operating and financial metrics for all key functional areas within the business unit to measure performance and maximize understanding of key trends and opportunities
- Provide insightful, actionable analysis of revenue, customers, products, operating costs, cash flow and capital projects in support of key business unit decision-making
- Lead the development of business cases for capital expenditures and other key initiatives
o Manage capital expenditure approval and reporting process for the business unit
- Assist with analysis and due diligence of proposed acquisitions/alliances for the business unit as opportunities present themselves
- Continually evaluate and challenge processes and methods to enhance results, improve efficiency and add value. Enhance the delivery of actionable information.
- Serve as active partner with business unit leadership in addressing financial and business issues, bringing effective information to bear and supporting timely decision-making
- Provide leadership to financial planning and analysis staff assigned to this position
o Recruit, develop and retain high performing analyst staff who can grow with the company
- Ensure that company policies, including the Company Code of Ethics and procedures are implemented within the business unit
Position Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Required BS in Accounting or Finance
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Approximately 10+ years of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and planning experience
- Working knowledge of Excel required; Hyperion and/or Essbase a plus
- Experience in web-based and/or consumer services business strongly preferred.
Position Attributes:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work independently on difficult and complex business and financial issues. Ability to present such information for Executive review and decisioning.
